BudgetForge: Why a Personal Finance App Sits Outside the Family
BudgetForge is a Forge product, but it does not share a customer, a billing model, or a shelf with the SMB suite. Here is why we kept it standalone.
BudgetForge is for individuals and households. The SMB suite is for service businesses. The two audiences have almost nothing in common — different buyers, different privacy expectations, different price sensitivity, different support needs.
So BudgetForge lives outside the family by design:
- Separate billing. Free locally; paid tier for cross-device sync.
- Separate identity. No Forge Framework account required.
- Separate roadmap. Its competitors and constraints are not the SMB suite's.
It is still ours, and it still benefits from the engineering culture we are building. But pretending it belongs in a B2B bundle would confuse both audiences.
